Pre-Fiesta Week

Samantha's costume this year!

Hair was to be a long (fake) ponytail

But, Linda Vega made a last minute change to buns. At least no spit curls this year!

Remember these?

Dress rehearsal for the Romeria de Verano, Linda Vega's annual dance review.

Thatcher and his sweetheart, Layne.

Prepping for the Romeria by watching videos of the routine.

Dressed and ready to go!

Showtime with Papa Ron and Grandma Cathy at the Marjorie Luke Theatre.

I was too busy watching Samantha's performance that I didn't sneak any photos but here is Sofia doing her solo.

And the final performance with Linda and all the older dancers.

This is last year's photo, wearing the same dress!

Thatcher wanted to bring flowers to little Miss Layne.

After performance dinner at Jill's Place.

Pre-Fiesta week is spent dancing all around town at retirement and nursing homes. There is a lot of downtime between performances so the girls play lots of games.

Samantha posing with this year's Spirit of Fiesta, Talia Ortega Vestal.

A break between performances means wearing red lips to Starbucks.

The Tanguillo Girls.

Performing at Maravilla.

Thatcher and Layne.

On to the next performance!

Layne trying to teach Thatcher how to play Go Fish.

Samantha and her flamenco teacher, Ms. Cari, at the debut of Polka Dot Alley at the Lobero Theatre, a documentary about the Linda Vega Dance Studio.

Dancing Grandma came up for dinner and the show which was a lot of fun for us girls (good movie too)!

Sammy and not-so-little Sofia anymore. We did get to see a few glimpses of her in the film which took place four years ago when she was little Sofia!

Linda Vega dancers excited to see the film.

Another day, another performance.

Flamenco sassiness at the Garden Court performance.

This is the oldest and first Spirit of Fiesta.

Here is Samantha and Fallon posing with her last year.

How my purse looks these days…..

A fiesta happy hour party at our house and this is the only picture I got, the aftermath of a plastic sombrero in the yard the next day.

Picture day!

Samantha's group was selected to perform at the Flower Girl Ceremony at the Courthouse.

And Todd was selected to be the official artist for the Linda Vega float ;)

These are the before shots, stay tuned for the finished product!

Here's a video montage of a few of her performances pre-fiesta week
