Savage Thrashers U8 AYSO and SB Soccer Club 07 White

August means soccer season officially begins (Yay!) and weekends are no longer free and school is about to start (Boo!)

Samantha made the 07 White team again last year and the team had another kick-off party at teammate Gracie's beautiful home.

Ready to be back in action on the field!

Summer Cup

Small group training at Laguna Blanca.

Todd and Jethro coached a mostly Peabody team for the third year in a row.

And third year in a row having practice around the corner at Shoreline park.

Todd LOVED his AYSO polo. 😂

Not sure how Lollipop feels about soccer practice.

Ready for Thatcher's first game!

AYSO changed the age key this year which meant that Thatcher would be playing with and against second and first graders. But it definitely seemed like there were a whole lot of first graders.

Thatcher's team went undefeated until the last two games although we aren't counting that last weekend of games because not enough players were available for either game. Including one of those games both Jethro and Todd couldn't make it (or the kids) so who knows what happened! ;)

Soccer Saturdays with friends!

Ivan has been an AMAZING coach for Sam. We are having a much better experience than last year.

Girsh Park means lots of Costco visits and more friends.

The kid looking at Thatcher makes me laugh.

We had lots of Mesa Cafe lunches after soccer.

Love to watch my #20!

It's Sam's second full year of club and the improvement is so fun to watch.

Soccer in Santa Maria means you end up at places like Applebees. Or Red Robin. Can't remember which it was.

And eat gross food like this.

The whole fam came to see Samantha play in SB.

Sometimes you have to play against your friends. Samantha's team won however these two were the only ones that scored goals!

Thatcher killing time at his sister's game.

Another way to kill time.

Ice cream stop in San Luis.

We only have a few hotel stays for club because we don't travel much but it is definitely the highlight for the girls.

And a highlight for little brothers.

Soccer camp over the winter holiday break. It was during the Thomas Fire and the kids came home covered in ash.

Taz was on our team last year and was a late add this year so he was a late add to the banner ;)

End of the season party at Taffy's

Settle down Coach Todd.

A group shot is tough with this crew.

Thatcher ended the season with 22 goals!

It's bittersweet with these four. It may have been their last AYSO together. Thatcher is currently trying out for a club team. Mateo kind of sort of fudged his birthdate for AYSO to remain on a 2010 team but that won't fly in club so it may be the end of the road for these two. :( But again, we are still figuring out what's best for Thatcher next season.

We put Thatcher in the Educo program that Santa Barbara Soccer Club has so that he could be with kids more at his level.

Coach Matt was awesome and Thatcher loved getting there early to get some one on one coaching.

More small group training for Sam, this time at Bishop Diego.

These two play A LOT of soccer each week with long practices and long weekends of games. They are back on the same team together which is great! Fingers crossed for next season!

State Cup was in Lancaster this year.

The girls has some tough losses and didn't advance to the next round but the hotel stay was fun!

What the girls do during the down time between games.

Sam's season goes through the spring. So far her team has played 22 games. They've won 12, tied one and lost nine. Sam has had five goals.

And currently, Sam is also in the midst of try-outs for next season. Fingers crossed!
