Beach Day

A few weeks ago we spent an entire Friday afternoon at Haskell's Beach.

We walked up to the Bacara for lunch.

We toasted our perfect day.

Seriously, we need to keep our eyes on these two.....

It was very nice of the Bacara staff to let us take a dip in their pool (perhaps they wanted us out of their restaurant with all the crazy kids).

We went from the beach, to a resort....

to the Santa Barbara Westside....

Talk about a downgrade but still fun especially with such great friends!

Love Him

He's strong

He's silly
He's sweet
He's looking good in that jean diaper...

And such a cute voice!

Last Day in Palm Springs

Our last day in Palm Springs

We had brunch at the bluEmber at the resort.

Headed to the pool for one last hurrah

And then sadly it was time to check out of the hotel and head home
Both kids instantly feel asleep as soon as we got on the road.

When we got to the Cabazon Dinosaurs, we woke both kids up because we had promised them we would stop on the way back.

As we drove closer, Samantha was terrified and Thatcher, who is OBSESSED with dinosaurs, was so tired that he said, "no daddy, keep driving."

Although both kids had no problem waking up when they realized we were in the In-and-Out drive through.  They've got their priorities straight when it comes to a good burger!

Soon we made it to Thousand Oaks where we learned what Lollipop had been doing all weekend:

Getting lots of attention from Grandma

Doggie playdates at the dog park

Happy dog!

Papa's best friend

Riding in style with Grandma!

Thank you Papa Ward and Dancing Grandma!

So long Palm Springs, we will be back again soon!

More Palm Springs

On our last day, we headed back to downtown Palm Springs.

Had breakfast (and bottomless mimosas) at Pinocchio.

And then you guessed it, back to the pool.

This was day 3 of no nap for Thatcher and he was delirious!

Yes, it is over 100 degrees and this kid won't give up the rain boots.

After spending all day at the pool, we went across the street to the Yardhouse for dinner.  I can think of a handful of chain restaurants in Santa Barbara that need to go so that something like this can take its place.  It was so good!

See what no napping does to this kid?!

After dinner we came back to the hotel and cooled off with a run through the sprinklers.
Someone wasn't happy....

We could hear music going on from our hotel room so we walked up to the main part of the hotel to see what was happening.

Sam and Thatcher were mesmerized.

They were both serenaded by the lounge singer.

Such a beautiful last night in Palm Springs.
