Annie at the Pantages Theater

Annie was playing at the Pantages Theater so we bought tickets on a whim and headed down to Hollywood. 

I had all these great restaurants in mind as well as other places to pop into real quick pre-show but when we got to LA it was a bust. Hollywood is pretty darn dirty and sketchy, sorry, I have no other way to describe it. It didn't help that we couldn't find parking anywhere so when you drive around in circles you get to see more than you want and with an almost 8-year-old she had lots of questions and comments. 

So, we are at CPK in a mall structure that is next to the W Hotel. You walk two feet outside of the hotel and well, it is not quite what I had intended pre-theater but it is what it is. 

I wanted to go to this cheesy museum beforehand too but too complicated with parking etc.....

If you look closely, you can see a guy dressed as a bloody zombie in that group of people passing by. It was close to Halloween at this time but I am not 100% sure that is why he was dressed that way. 

We did get to do a short walk along the Walk of Fame to the theater. My Sammy loved spotting another Sammy. 

No photos of the actual show because of course you can't do that but the little girl who played Annie was so sweet to watch, the play was engaging to the kids and we loved all the music. I remember going to the theater in Los Angeles when I was little to see Cats, Tap Dance Kid and Peter Pan. It is on our list of things to do again, to see more shows in the city for sure!

Busy Tooth Fairy

Out came a front tooth! (on 10/12/15 to be exact) 

And DOWN the drain it went! 

Suddenly Todd was in plumber mode. 

And Thatcher couldn't stop grinning showing off his brand new smile. 

As if there were any doubt that Todd wouldn't find the tooth ;)

We overheard the kids talking about the Tooth Fairy that night and Samantha offered to dictate a note for Thatcher.

To their surprise, the Tooth Fairy DID write, I mean, type back!

Samantha read the news the next morning. 

Thatcher was in awe staring back and forth from Samantha to the dollar bill in his hand. 

Can you feel his excitement?!

Lesson #1: Be careful of losing teeth near the sink

Lesson #2: The Tooth Fairy does not bring Legos

Oh and a big one, a HUGE one, Lesson #3:

ALWAYS wear a helmet.

 In our case, Thatcher should have a helmet on even when he's not on a bike, skateboard or scooter. We are 99% sure his front teeth would still be intact at this point. In fact, he's only lost one tooth so far that didn't have help from him falling on his face, we think.

And fast forward to today. That tooth is growing in and the other front tooth fell out two days ago. 

Unlike Samantha, we won't be seeing the giant gap of two front teeth missing at the same time which I think is SO cute! 

But he still wears this shirt!

Pre-Halloween Fun

Samantha was giving dance lessons early one morning to Thatcher and Lila which is pertinent to this blog post at the end. 

Setting up for Halloween gingerbread house making with a visit from Roxy dog. 

More friends arrived and the world's messiest activity began. 

These things never turn out like the box claims. 

Does Samantha even know she has chocolate ALL OVER HER FACE?

We got Samantha all cleaned up so she could hold Sweet Stella ;)

Then the music AND.....

DANCE PARTY began hence the practicing dance moves earlier. 

Lila slept over and the morning called for Bloody Marys hot chocolate at Mesa Cafe. 

What's funny is the Pirozzi clan showed up for breakfast at the same place and we didn't even plan it the night before. They are acting like they don't know us right here.

As if the night before wasn't messy enough, we let our kids do it again.

We can skip the Christmas versions as we have had our fill ;)
