Yellow Bird Music Class

Samantha and I attend Yellow Bird Music Class each week. Samantha loves banging on the drums, shaking the maracas and listening to the teacher sing and play the guitar.

Playing the Ukulele with her band mate Reese

Sometimes she eats the instruments!

The Little Fish

Samantha spent all weekend in the water.
I love this little face Samantha makes!

All ready for the pool party

Sun bathing on Friday at a friends poolBBQ on Saturday at our friends who had this obnoxious kiddie pool that was so much fun! And on Sunday we had a pool party at Dancing Grandma's house and I forgot my camera :( Grandma did take some pictures that I am hoping she sends to me and I will post them later :)

This photo does not pertain to her water weekend but I just love her chubby legs!

Cousins, Hula Hoops and Golf Clubs

We had a nice visit with family in Riverside this weekend. My sister's family came in from Colorado. Here are some pictures of Samantha with her cousin's Dylan and Lauren:

50 Random Facts About The Fallons

My friend Sarah has tagged me with the task of sharing 50 random facts about our family so here it goes:

1. Todd and I are UCSB alumni (Todd graduated in '92 and I graduated in '99)

2. Todd had long hair all the way down to his lower back in the early 90's (I am tempted to post pics)

3. My grandfather, dad, uncle, and brother are all PGA golf pros

4. I am named after my dad, Ron

5. Samantha is the first grandchild on Todd's side of the family, she is the 5th on my side (I have 3 nieces and 1 nephew)

6. Todd drives over an hour to work each way and has to fill his truck up with gas every other day at Costco in Oxnard - gas is about 25 cents less per gallon at Costco and is still a whopping $4.29 a gallon. Time to get rid of that truck!!!

7. I cook 4 new recipes each week (1 red meat, 1 poultry, and 2 fish) and if Todd and I agree that they are good - we call them "repeats" and I file the recipe to make again.

8. Because of #7 I feel like I am constantly at the grocery store because I never can get all the ingredients at one store. So sometimes I have to go to Ralphs, Lazy Acres, Trader Joes, Gelsons and Farmers Market just to complete a week of meals.

9. When I was pregnant I had an ice cream sundae every night after dinner. I told myself that once I had the baby I would no longer have them....I still do.

10. No matter how quiet you are when opening a packet of string cheese, our Italian Greyhound Lollipop will hear you and race over to beg for some.

11. They say that owners look like their pets. This is definitely true in the case of Todd and Lollipop.

12. I like to do laundry and hate to do dishes.

13. Todd has been a licensed pilot for more than 20 years.

14. I was a cheerleader all 4 years in high school and even won "Cheerleader of the Year" - yes there really was such an award.

15. For Valentines Day a couple years ago, Todd surprised me with a new wallet. I thought, wow how practical....then I opened it and their were 2 tickets to Paris :)

16. Samantha's middle name is Delilah. We struggled with using it as a middle name because it would make such a nice first name. If we have another girl, I am considering using it anyways.

17. My first car was a '93 sea foam green Toyota Tercel. I could fill the gas tank up for less than $10.

18. Todd's mom, Marilyn, has been a nurse since her 20's.

19. Lollipop has recently put on too much weight and has to go on a diet. She weighs 13 lbs. and she should be about 10 lbs.

20. Both Todd and his brother are artists.

21. I have watched All My Children ever since I can remember.

22. Todd used to be a model in the 90's. He has been in several big mag's and walked in many high fashion runway shows. (I am tempted AGAIN to post some pics)

23. My first job was a dishwasher when I was 14 (I REALLY wanted a job). Todd's first job was a flower delivery boy on Saturdays.

24. I was very involved in student activities in high school. Todd was the exact opposite and says he made fun of people like me.

25. Todd has a bit of a sweet tooth. His fav's are: Swedish Fish, Gummy Coke Bottles, Red Licorice, Junior Mints, and Marshmallow Peeps (I feel like we are the only household that buys the non-Easter Peeps). Oh and those cartons of sugar cookies with the thick frosting in grocery store bakeries.

26. Lollipop has tons of toys although she will only play with one. It is a little blue bird we call "birdie". She hides it all over the house and will retrieve it when we say, "Lolly, go get your birdie".

27. I pack a lunch for Todd everyday.

28. Todd's Step Dad, Ward, is a decorated Green Beret Medic who served in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne.

29. I exercise at least four times a week doing either Yoga, Pilates, or Spinning.

30. When I was pregnant I was really in to playing games - Monopoly, Cards, Yahtzee. We even went out and bought a Nintendo Wii. We have not even turned on the Wii or played a board game since we brought Samantha home.

31. Todd has gained about 10 pounds since we first met - must be my cooking!

32. My guilty pleasure is watching court TV shows. I love Judge Judy, Judge Mathis, Judge Marilyn Milian and Judge Joe Brown.

33. I used to subscribe to USA Today but got stressed out when I could not keep up on reading them. They began to pile up on our driveway. Todd would start to put them in his truck to hide them from me so that I would not freak out each day about having to read the paper. I finally canceled it and felt much better.

34. Todd's grandparents used to live in Santa Barbara on Micheltorena street in the early 40's.

35. Todd was born in Thousand Oaks, I was born in Riverside.

36. Both Todd and I had braces. I even had to wear head gear!! It is pretty much a given that we should not only save for Samantha's college but also her orthodontist fees.

37. Todd is a MAC guy and I am a PC gal. Although, I do think the MAC commercials mocking PC are pretty darn funny.

38. We gave Samantha a taste of a lemon at dinner the other night and she loved it! It's our new thing to do at a restaurant to keep her occupied. We love watching her make her sour lemon face.

39. I took tap, jazz, and ballet lessons from the age of five up until high school. Todd did soccer, baseball, karate and BMX bike racing as a kid.

40. I have never broken a bone in my body. Todd has broken his collar bone, both arms (1 of them twice), and both ankles.

41. Lollipop sleeps in our bed, under the covers and has her very own Tempurpedic pillow. And even though I swore Samantha would never end up in our bed - most nights she does and we love it! Who wouldn't love snuggling up with that little bundle?!

42. I read The Independent and Montecito Journal every week.

43. Todd's mom is a fantastic ballroom dancer. She even choreographed a waltz for Todd and I to dance to at our wedding.

44. Todd learned to surf in Pismo Beach when he was 12 and has 6 surfboards.

45. Todd and I have vacationed in Fiji, Hawaii, Paris, Mexico, Carmel, Florida, Colorado, San Francisco, and Seattle.

46. Lollipop never used to bark until we brought home Samantha. She has become quite the guard dog.

47. We used to go to our favorite sushi restaurant, Arigato, a lot - sometimes twice a week. Now we spend our nights at home with the baby - its cheaper and we wouldn't trade it for anything.

48. Samantha was born on 11/28/07 just after midnight after 36 hours of labor!!

49. Todd and I love seeing live music especially at the Santa Barbara Bowl.

50. Todd's Fathers ashes are scattered out in Big Sur.

Demolition Man

Todd has really been working hard on the remodel.

Here is the Kitchen before
And After
All that remains are a stove and refrigerator that need to be taken to the dump. Todd knocked out the wall that separates the kitchen to the dining room which will open it up and make room for a peninsula.

The house was tented last week

Todd has started the demolition process - quite a bit more to go.

Anyone interested in one of the first big screen TV's ever made??? That TV, among other junk, was left in the house and is being cleared out.
