4th Grade Musical: California Missions and More

Sam's class performed "California Missions and More" for their 4th grade musical performance and Samantha played the part of John Sutter.

John Sutter.

And Sam as John Sutter!

I about fell over when I showed up to the performance! Sam's mustache was so funny! 😂 The kids stay after school on the day of the performance and are styled with hair/makeup by volunteers so I didn't see her until the show.

They put on quite a show. Lots of singing and skits throughout and then at about the two minute mark is when Sam and Charlotte have their time to shine. I may have to send this video into the Disney channel because Samantha may have a chance to get on one of those tween shows where they really REALLY overact, I mean act! 😜 She sure surprised me!

Wrap party!

Second and Fourth Grade Dance Performances

All students attend a weekly dance class taught by Steven Lovelace from SB Dance Arts at Peabody and at the end of the year the parents are invited to check out what they've learned.

Second graders.

Mr. Lovelace is a gem!

Fourth graders.

Samantha has really started to enjoy dancing which makes me so happy! And Thatcher's beaming smile (and his "try not to smile" smile) in EVERY single dance routine makes me want to play this video over and over. 🕺

Track Meet 2018

In 4th grade, you graduate to the Peabody Track Meet from Sports Day.

Fourth, fifth and sixth graders are assigned a country and all parade in to the San Marcos track together Olympic-style. 🇧🇸🇦🇹🇨🇦 🇱🇷

Let the games begin!

Sam should stick to running. 😂 Although she did take a 4th place ribbon home for this event.

Competitors/Friends 💓

All of the races are individually timed/scored as you earn points for your country.

Each time you race, your time is taken and then the top eight are lined up to be in a final race.

Sam took the first place seat for all three running races, the 400, the 100 and the 50! 🙌

Track Meet Awards Assembly

Not sure if that is Thatcher's "proud face" towards his sister? 🤔

Sam's First SB Bowl Concert

There was finally an act coming to the bowl that Samantha was excited to see and all the rest of the SB tweens...... Katy Perry! And even better, Katy, born and raised in Santa Barbara, would donate the proceeds to those affected by the Thomas fire and Montecito mudslides.

CPK with friends before the show.

Literally every SB kid we knew was there.

Katy gave away "Cito" Beanie Babies to all the kids who entered the bowl which were created by Ty Warner, Montecito resident, to honor the victims and survivors of the mudslides.

My kids rarely drink soda but always want it as a treat but then always make this face when they actually swallow it.

Eleanora was having the BEST DAY EVER!

About 10 years ago I took our neighbor at the time, Sofia (now our #1 babysitter), to see Katy Perry at the bowl when she was Sam's age and now I got to take Sam!
