Sports Day

Peabody had their annual Sports Day where classes compete in different obstacle/skills events as well as a team sign contest. Guess who was volunteered to make the sign for Sam's class:

Yep, Todd. More on that later….

The day begins with a parade of all the classrooms wearing their team shirts and holding up their sign.

Samantha was so proud of the sign. Her teacher told her she could sit down several times but she refused.

All lower grade classrooms showed off their signs too. I'm not gonna lie, ours was clearly the best BUT I soon realized that it looked like the kids did their own classroom signs and ours looked professional. With that in mind, I realized Samantha's (and Todd's) dream of winning the sign contest was pretty far fetched.

The afternoon was spent doing various challenges.

Here's some video from the day which includes the sign parade, their classroom cheer and Samantha in action in various events which further confirmed the competitive spirit my little girl has.

Oh yeah, and about that sign contest…. The Electric Blue Butterflies beat out the Red Ninjas who came in LAST PLACE.

Note to Todd: Next year we need to have Samantha make the sign ;)

Random April Photos

At the carwash with these two.

And yes, Jack is wearing a helmet.

Pre-baseball game Selfie with my Rockhound.

And my other monkey.

My workout partner at city college.

Trying her best to balance on a soccer ball.

Samantha is taking an after school art class.

Dinner date at The Habit with Mason.

These silly kids LOVE watching "Survivor". I am pretty sure we are the only ones left watching this show. The kids made their own Survivor buffs for themselves and their stuffed animals.

Not sure if they are helping or hindering.

Date night to see Beck in concert at the Arlington.

Wine tasting in the funk zone and ran into Samantha's teacher from TK. We miss her so much!

Flamenco date with Samantha to watch the selection of the Spirit and Jr. Spirit of Fiesta

Loving my new GSF hat!

I didn't think this would happen but the "Frozen" craze is actually now dying out in our house. Sam will be doing a week long singing camp this summer that is Frozen themed so perhaps it will make its way back in style.

Kindergarten field trip to Alice Keck Park.

They had to journal what they saw on the trip

She saw "leaves" and "crazy people", pretty much spot on for that park ;)

Kindergarten artwork

Even one that won first place at the fair (I think everyone got that ribbon) ;)

Arigato with my best mommies!

Angel's Foster Care lunch at the Biltmore.

Happy Hour Love

And finally, proud to be a part of the championship team for the 1st annual Peabody Panther Relay! About thirty parents from Peabody competed "Survivor" style doing various obstacle courses at the beach. Our BLUE team was victorious beating out Todd and all the others ;)
