Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

First stop, lunch at Brophy's

That's the buzzer for our table but doesn't he look like he is on an important call?

Next stop, Endless Summer (where we are closely watching our friend's club soccer team score).

Cheers, we found out they won!

Our view.

I promise, we actually DO go to the museum which we'd never been to and pass by it every time we are down at the harbor and it is actually pretty cool!

The kids were given quizzes to take and return for a prize at the end of the tour.

I'm surprised we didn't get thrown out before we even started as that sign clearly reads "Please Do Not Touch."

Cool fishing simulator.

Surf exhibits.

Kids' area

Acting like kids...

And the stormy view on our way out.

Fun touristy day ;)

Reading Poems

I found theses gems at Costco and little did I know that Samantha had already been introduced to them in first grade. She jumped for joy when I surprised her with them. I used to love both of these books. It is funny to hear Samantha pick out her favorite poems and read them. I was in her class the other day and her teacher was reading "Us" shown below. All the kids were laughing hysterically and Mrs. Doering closed the book and said, "Thank you Samantha for the suggestion."

I've banned "potty talk" from our house (which is really hard when you have a four-year-old boy) so the fact that her teacher said "pee" had Samantha and every other kid in tears.

You can imagine the giggles these poems get. I suppose I let the "no potty talk" rule go at times with this book. Ah, the memories!

Thatcher Lost a Tooth!

Around the age of two, Thatcher took a really bad fall in our front yard and caught himself using his teeth on the cement. There was a lot of blood and a lot of loose teeth. The dentist said they were either going to fall out OR they could tighten back up. We were lucky because the latter happened.

A few months ago, Thatcher was balancing on a toy truck in the Kids' Club at the gym and he slipped and fell catching himself on a cement floor with his teeth. This time, they aren't tightening up. The first one came out a few weeks ago.  :(

I forget where we were coming home from but it had been hanging for several weeks and it finally came out in the car.

Naturally, he is thrilled with losing a tooth and can't stop showing the world.

Samantha didn't lose her first tooth until she was five-years-old and even then it was pulled by the dentist. So her first REAL visit from the Tooth Fairy wasn't until she was SIX! There are actually kids in Sam's first grade class who are seven and haven't even lost a tooth!

We are prepared for more holes in this smile to happen soon as he has at least FIVE more wiggly teeth, top AND bottom.

We need to teach this kid to put his hands out when he falls!

Early morning riser when he knows there is money to be had under his pillow ;)

Random January Photos

Selfies with Lollipop

Turns out she was more interested in Thatcher's cracker than the camera. Shocking.

Lego set from the Grandparents won out as Thatcher's favorite Christmas gift.

Coffee/Apple Juice date with this kid after registering him for kindergarten.

Yep, KINDERGARTEN!

What?! You don't like my shades?

Samantha's half-smile I get when I embarrass her by making her take pictures at school.

Date night selfie.

The couple across from us insisted on taking our picture when in reality I truly was going for a selfie.

I had like four hundred of these blurry images on my phone...

And another four hundred of these.

Loving Samantha's long, beach wave hair.

Lunch

with

these two!

Stretching with friends after the Panther Running Club.

These never come out but we always take them.

Fun having Holley in town for the night!

We are so red.

"MOM! Take a picture of me in front of this monster truck!"

Cinnamon roll Friday with these three.

Dinner with the Sherman family.

Luke will NEVER give me a smile ;)

January beach days.

I'm going to go with the original "Annie" movie being better than the remake.

Yum.

Just a couple of Costco shoppers

More beach days.

Yep, the kids found a lobster trap and pulled it in.

It was these guys lucky day.

Set free and saved from a future pot of boiling water!

Fish bait!

Lolly is not amused with the scarf we gave her.

Playdate with Bailey.

Field trip to explore tide pools at Hendry's Beach.

The sky on fire above our house.
