Year Two at Preschool

Tuesday was Sam's first day in her new class at preschool. She graduated from Ms. Katie's class (ages 2 1/2 to 3) to Ms. Cindy's class (ages 4 to 5). Samantha is the youngest in the group, she still has a few more months before she turns 4.

We have been prepping Samantha with the news of a new teacher for the past few months because we knew she would be sad to leave Ms. Katie.  The good news is that she still gets to see Ms. Katie and she already knows Ms. Cindy.
 

When I dropped her off at school the director said, "Samantha, today is the day you ARE in Ms. Cindy's class!"  Apparently she had been asking daily for the past two months when she was going to be in her new class.  So much for us thinking she would have a difficult time transitioning....

Hidden Valley Park

We have not been to Hidden Valley Park in a long time, so long that all the equipment has been updated with new stuff.  I love it because it is geared towards toddlers.  At every other park we go to, Thatcher usually comes home with a black eye or some sort of awful bruise or scrape on him, (actually Todd came home with a pretty bad injury on his forehead from Shoreline Park the other day but that is a whole other story....).  I thought Samantha would be bored with the "baby" equipment but she has mastered the monkey bars and loves the spinning flower chair they have there now.  They have enjoyed it so much we went two days in a row! 

 

Swim Dates

Samantha got to go with Auntie La La (Laurie) to her gym this past week and have a swim date with her friends. 

Then on Saturday the swimming continued at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  This time Thatcher got to join in on the action.
