Todd's Birthday

Here's how the birthday celebration began:

And for the next hour or so I badgered him via text as to how far away he was so that we could be ready with....

Aerosmith playing on the Sonos, a beer, a bag of his favorite candy AND two tickets (one was for me as this was going to be WAY more fun than the specially taught yoga class I made up) to the sold out Aerosmith concert that night! Which by the way, I scored the tickets only a few hours earlier in our favorite seats for a third of the cost!

Off to dinner (I swear I am wearing clothes despite what it looks like).

Pre-show dinner at Opal

It was our first concert at the bowl in two years. For the past few years, we haven't been all that enthused with the acts they've brought which is a total bummer because a concert at The Bowl is one of the best things to do in Santa Barbara. We went from going to almost every show in seasons past to now just one or two a year and last year we didn't go once! Guess it means we are getting old as we don't recognize a lot of the acts :(

It's always fun to bump into friends especially when they bring the youngest concert-goer to the show ;)

As we were leaving the show, we bumped into more friends and headed over to The Pickle Room for a little more fun.

Aerosmith was super entertaining and a major 90's flashback for me.

On Todd's actual birthday the next day, the kids presented Todd with gifts. Thatcher gave him this belt that we had received earlier that day from a bag of hand-me-downs a friend dropped off. It's a toss-up between the Aerosmith concert and that belt as to which gift Todd liked best ;) If only he could have worn it to the concert...

We chowed down on Pizza Guru and

a cake from Your Cake Baker

Happy HAPPY 40-something ;)

4th of July

4th of July kicked off with a Mesa Parade down and up Shoreline Drive.

We arrived to a neighborhood block party where there were decorations for your wheels, paint for faces and drinks/food for kids and adults. AND, this was all before 9AM! We had a long day ahead of us!

We biked home from the parade and then party hopped over to the Pirozzi's new house to crash their family BBQ ;)

This is one of Jill's sister's dogs. I think it was named Chewy? or Pepe? or something like that.

Samantha forget she had her own cute dog at home and wanted this one.

We ventured back to the Mesa to ride over to Leanne's new house.

Why is this the only picture I have from her house?! A bathroom mother/daughter selfie. Kind of embarrassing!

From Leanne's, we biked a few streets over for a block party with another group of friends.

We were the ultimate party hoppers on the 4th!

It was a HAPPY (busy) 4th indeed!
