Sam's birthday always falls on or around Thanksgiving and in 2019 it was on actual Turkey Day! It's a challenging time to have a party with friends being able to attend each year. So, we ditched school and headed to Universal Studios with a group of Sam's besties.
Our greeter when picking up Alexis.
If I could, I would have let Zack jump in the car and join us.
Off to to celebrate the almost 12-year-old!
Randomly bumped into Peabody friends!
The Studio Tour hasn't changed much.
I love that this is someone's job all day.
I wonder how many times a day he does this scene?!
I can't remember why they were holding up these receipts and what they were for. 🤔
We rode this Mummy ride over and over. They would not let you sit on the ride despite no lines, you had to exit and go around and back in.
I loved that the girls included me in their fun all day long!
I had the best time!

We definitely got our steps in.
Later we shopped at the Universal City Walk.
🤣
I thought these were genius and hadn't seen them before.
It was one of my favorite days hanging with these tweens. They are the sweetest group and I'd take them back in a heartbeat!
For Sam's school birthday celebration, she wanted to make turkey rice crispy treats, the same treat we have made since she was little.
As with most projects we start too late, Todd has to come in and finish. 🤣
Voila!
This doesn't happen in jr. high—it's the last of the Cha Cha Chas! 😢
Flash back to kindergarten with the same treat!
The sweetest cards 💜
And more to come on Sam's birthday because it tends to be a month-long celebration given the timing!
