Part two of our trip was intentionally less theme park and more relaxation with a little history thrown in.
We drove from Orlando to the coast to the oldest city in the U.S.
We stayed at the Casa Monica Resort & Spa.
Which was surrounded by so many landmarks.
Oreo beignets. 🤤
A history lesson was every where you turned.
Some pool time before our tour of the city.
To-go drinks in hand and ready for our tour which was given by what might be the oldest tour guide in St. Augustine. She knew her stuff and was a real hoot!
Oldest street in the U.S.!
Lots of churches.
Cemeteries.
Streets lined with fabulous oak trees!
Walls made of shells.
Flagler College
A reminder that we weren't in California anymore. 🤣
We ended up at Catch 27. Another reminder that we weren't in California anymore because everything was fried...fried oysters on deviled eggs.
And time to head back to our hotel!
Board games at the hotel bar, yes please!
💃
It wasn't exactly a beach day with the sporadic rain but still WAY warmer than our water back home.
We also noticed no one goes to the beach with a little rain/clouds.
We definitely stood out as tourists!
We decided to head back to our hotel area and cut the beach day short.
We saved room for dessert.
Bumped into some pirates. 🤷♀️
Back to the hotel for drinks, games and Coco!
The younger ladies love Thatcher. It's always the younger siblings on sports teams or really any gathering that flock to Thatcher!
Last breakfast at Casa Monica.
And we headed out for our departure.
Quick stop at Sweet Pete's!
Interesting art on the streets of Jacksonville.
Airport bar and the Little League World Series kept us occupied through flight delays.
Florida news kept us occupied too. 😬
Always ordering mashed potatoes.
Texas layover.
Where we played "casino" games until we made it back home safely to Lollipop and Santa Barbara!
Here's some video from our trip!
