Talent Show

Last year, as kindergarteners, Samantha and her friend Ashley sang at the talent show.

In case you want to relive "Let it Go" from that night: Peabody Talent Show 2014

And this year, on our way to soccer practice one afternoon with a carpool of four 1st graders, Pitbull's song "Fireball" came on and they all four decided they were going to dance, sing AND play air guitar. Three out of the four girls didn't know what an air guitar was so it was funny hearing the one who suggested it explain it with, "well, we all have a built in air guitar, you just have to know how to use it."

Fast forward to the day of the tryouts and this is Samantha waiting to go play the piano sans friends. Long story short, Spring Break happened and then tryouts were the following week, there was no practicing of said Fireball routine even though I did fantasize about teaching the girls an awesome dance routine ;)

Here she is at at the tryouts where they could not find the bench to go with the piano so she was seated a little low and Samantha sort of scoots around on the bench to reach all the keys so I'd say it wasn't her best performance. And then, Gus our piano teacher, came over before the actual show and gave her some performance tips like bowing and to wait for the applause in between the two songs she was going to do.

Nervous girl! She told us after the show that her teeth were shaking and so were her legs!

She did awesome despite the lower keys on the piano being out of tune and a few wrong notes but she just kept going like Gus said. Oh and we did bring our own bench but low and behold they found a bench!

These two reunited for a picture. Ashley was super brave and kicked off the show and sang by herself.

She sang in K, piano in 1st, what are the chances I can get her to do a flamenco routine next year?

So proud of Sammy! (and I added a clip from a second grader who last year did an Elvis routine that was a crowd favorite. This year he did an equally impressive routine. Had I not ran out of space on my phone I would have recorded the whole thing) ;)

Easter 2015

Easter egg dying with friends.

Writing and posting notes on the wall for the Easter Bunny.

He must have liked his notes because he made a special visit the next morning.

Egg hunt!

Thatcher found a golden egg. (His outfit is killing me!)

Sam found one too.

After the Easter Bunny fun, we headed to Peabody for a boot camp/yoga workout with friends.

Then over to the Strong's beautiful new home for Easter brunch with friends.

Peeps race!

Don't leave your phone unattended when Sarah is around ;)

Happy Easter!

Random March Photos

We had a double date with the Scherman's to The Painted Cabernet. Our families are hosting an upcoming party for our school doing our own version called "Paint and Pour" so we wanted to study up on the process.

Todd's painting.

Mine.

Todd's.

Mine.

You get the drift here.

Why I thought I should add a neon yellow fish and ruin mine, I have no idea.

I painted over that and kind-of, sort-of redeemed my painting.

I hate painting.

He loves painting.

Elena loves it and she should, she's good too.

I thought my messy palette made cool artwork though ;)

Random and big news, we sold our house and moved to a new place!

Loving our new home and neighborhood. I loved this tree until about 3 weeks ago. More on that in a sec.

This little guy flew into our house one day.

The sweetest love bird ever!

It was obviously someone's pet.

It LOVED Todd. He/She was so friendly and not scared of us at all. I fed him chips and guacamole and I entertained the idea of having a bird for a minute or two. It pooped on my table and I was quickly over having a bird. We ended up taking it to the animal hospital. Not sure if they ever found the owner.

Evening walk with Sammy.

A leprechaun entered our house at some point on 3/17.

The kids both made their own traps.

They woke up WAY too early to see if they had caught one.

No such luck on actually catching one.

Last night in our old house with the bunk beds taken apart.

First night in the new house with no bunk beds put together. (Don't worry, both kids got to sleep with us that night) ;)

It helps to have strong, nice friends when you need a hand ;)

Both of these kids keep gravitating towards the drums at piano lessons and I keep reminding them there is no way we are getting a drum set.

Snuggie kids.

Fallon turned 7!

Her sunglasses in the previous picture were hiding a black eye she got from the monkey bars. We had to get a picture of Thatcher and Fallon together with his skateboard injuries. These two were quite the pair ;)

Jumping HIGH at Cloud 10!

Todd showing off his basketball skills at the Peabody basketball tournament. Unfortunately, his team got killed, like really killed. Todd would like to challenge them to a surf contest next time.

Dinner at Harry's with Charlotte before the Peabody Upstarts Play.

Ready for the play!

While we were at the play, Thatcher got a Daddy date and guess where he wanted to go?! That tells you how little, if any, fast food we eat. It's a special treat to get McDonald's.

Late night dinner at a new sushi restaurant in town.

Lazy dog, sleeping in the sunshine. I feel like we might need to buy her a bigger bed.

Moving boxes provide hours of entertainment.

I've had this plant since my Grandma Onie's funeral which was I think 15 years or so ago?? The plant is named Grandma Onie and she's still alive ;)

Bike riding to dinner.

New garden planted.

My handy hubby saving me when I blew a tire out on the 101 freeway.

Flamenco girls watching Ms. Linda teaching.

Back to this tree, it is now off limits for climbing because less than five minutes after I snapped this picture, Thatcher was at the branch where Samantha is and flipped around and fell 8 feet to the ground on his head and back. I can barely look at this picture seeing our neighbor, Kaitlyn, up so high. Makes me so nervous!

After we ruled out a concussion and any head injuries, four days later we ended up at the doctor's office because we noticed he was not moving his left arm and could barely get a shirt on without wiggling and shimmeying himself in one without raising his arm.

We left with a lollipop and a sling and were sent for x-rays.

Remember, this was just 2 weeks prior to the tree incident. I want to wrap him up in bubble tape and stick him on the couch indefinitely.

Thankfully there was no break but his clavicle did bend enough to make it very soar, swollen and painful. It's been about 3 weeks now and he seems almost completely healed already. We even let him play in both his soccer and baseball games during all of this. He actually batted the best yet these past two weeks. We were so SO lucky he landed the way he did as it could have been much worse.

Lollipop posing with Lollipop.

Celebrating turning 5 at preschool.

All the little boys in Ms. Laurie's class play baseball and she put each of their team names next to their names. Go Sea Dogs!

Wearing her new romper from Grandma and Poppy Robinson

Family bike ride downtown to dinner.

Fancy mango drinks at Carlitos

Well behaved kids at a restaurant...

Dessert at Petros

Biking home.

Hanging with the Stones and Holley and Cam at The Goodland. (This should be a "Random February Photo" but I guess I missed it).

Perhaps a future pilot?

or Engineer?

Sam's pose is killing me here.

and here!

Sunset beach walks.

Thatcher asked Pete for a mohawk at his last appointment.
