Christmas Sing: Happy Birthday Jesus!

Thatcher had his Christmas Sing at preschool a few weeks ago. The kids prepare all month for the holiday concert and are excited to celebrate Jesus' birthday!

This is Thatcher's nervous smile.

This is also his nervous smile masked through a big CHEESE!

This is a REAL smile since he is with his main squeeze, Jessica.

Jessie gives Thatcher the best hugs.

Right?

Mrs. Susan telling the story about the birth of Baby Jesus.

After the concert with his best school buddy, Lucas.

Look at these cuties just a year ago. What a difference a year makes, they both look like kindergartners now.

Samantha was at soccer practice and missed the family photo op.

Way back when, Samantha and Connor having punch and cookies after their preschool concert.

Last year, Thatcher smiled and sang the entire time. Here's proof.

This year, he barely cracked a smile, seemed nervous and kind of sang. He's getting too cool for preschool. Good thing Jessie was in front of him to add some sunshine to the video with her sweet smile and singing ;)

Holidays at Peabody

The last weekend of kindergarten before the holiday vacation was packed with fun activities.

They made gingerbread houses

In Thatcher's defense, it was pajama day at his preschool that particular day and those ARE pajamas so that is why he is dressed that way ;)

Peabody also had pajama day.

An all-school assembly to raise the flag

and the kindergarteners sang Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to the other grades.

The kids takes dance lessons once a week from Steven Lovelace of Santa Barbara Dance Arts.  Here they are doing their end of the year interpretive dance review for all the parents.  I didn't have that great of a view to tape Sam.

And finally, a melody of songs at the Holiday Sing.  Samantha is the reindeer in the red pajamas in the front.  I think they touched upon every possible December holiday around the world from Christmas to Kwanza, they sang about them all!

Thatcher's Christmas Sing

Thatcher's preschool had their Christmas concert last month also known as Jesus' Birthday Party!  Here he is looking dapper next to his main squeeze at preschool, Tierney.

Thatcher didn't start preschool in time last year to be in the program so big sister was excited to see him perform.

Getting ready to sing his little heart out which by the way HE DID (at least for him)!  Thatcher has always been shy at preschool performances or events.  He usually doesn't participate or will act super silly to do anything other than what he is supposed to be doing.

And I am also thinking Tierney may no longer be his main squeeze.

He kept inching closer and closer to Paige.

And then this!  I think it is confirmed, they've definitely have eyes for each other!

After the teachers told the story of the birth of baby Jesus, the kids stood up and performed the sweetest songs.

With the sweetest moves.

Here's proof that our little guy not only participated, but he did a pretty darn good job!  I mean, he is next to Paige who doesn't miss a beat so don't compare his moves to hers. I actually think he was trying to keep up with her (impossible) and impress her or maybe he was looking to her for some help on what to do.  In any case, we were proud he participated!

A birthday party for Jesus would not be complete without an after-party of treats!

Thatcher's buddy Lucas.

Thatcher's sweet teacher, Ms. Katie.

The night ended with dinner at Giovanni's for pizza and yes, that is a dollar bill.  Which was what we bribed him with if he would go on stage and sing.

It worked!

Lady Sammy

We need to work on the words a little with her, but here is some sort of Lady Gaga medley for you to enjoy ;)
