Fiesta 2014!

Actual Fiesta week is spent doing even more performances around Santa Barbara. The total number of performances Samantha did during pre-fiesta and actual fiesta was 36 performances!

Samantha is wearing our neighbor Sofia's authentic flamenco dress from Spain that she wore in-between performances when she was Samantha's age.

On deck for one of many shows.

Dancing Grandma and Papa Ward came to a show at Paseo Nuevo Mall.

Waiting to go on stage again.

Auntie Holley made the trip all the way from SF to see her girl! Nope, not because of those fresh blonde highlights, it was Samantha ;)

The girls with the Jr. Spirit of Fiesta, Natalie.

Garden Court performance. Actually, I think this was during pre-Fiesta but I am getting mixed up at this point...

Beautiful Sofia (we blame her for getting us into this fun) ;)

This was four years ago when we first saw Sofia dance.

Lining up.

A performance at Sanmarkand.

Meeting up with friends at the Mission dress rehearsal.

Mason is not sure how he feels about Samantha's hair and makeup ;)

The Mission dress rehearsal is fun to picnic at with friends and see the show with less crowds and mostly Santa Barbara locals. We also bumped into two sets of friends who were having pretty cool parties at the Rose Garden during the show complete with taco bars and hired bartenders. I love our friends ;)

We are still coming across confetti in our house.

On our way to a performance at the Moose Lodge.

There were times when Thatcher had to pal around with us and let's just say that he is not a fan of flamenco dancing.

Uncle Drew was able to catch a performance too!

A performance for a company on the Rivera.

Ready to go on the big stage at De La Guerra Plaza.

We love having friends out in the crowd!

Samantha and Fallon did a special performance at Thatcher's preschool since it was Fiesta Week there.

Showing the kids how to do a flamenco fan dance.

The girls answered questions and when there were no more questions from the preschoolers (trust me, there were a lot), Samantha and Fallon proceeded to tell the kids, "If you'd like to take a picture with us, you can." Shy girls. I think they got used to (and kind of liked) the fact that tourists would stop them downtown and ask to take pictures with them.

You do know that if Thatcher marries Fallon one day, her name will be Fallon Fallon. Just saying.

Every once in a while the girls got to catch the beginning or end of a show depending on where they were in the show line-up.

More friends ;)

Asher was a little shy with the dancers.

On stage at La Cumbre Plaza.

We ended up digging out the old stroller (I couldn't believe we still had it) to wheel Thatcher around. The shade came in handy to block the sun when he was playing his game.

"Spanish Tile Roof"

and Linda's logo.

Todd pulled an all-nighter and finished the float!

Super special friends ;)

My first and second grade teacher, Mrs. Ravenscroft, came again this year to see Samantha.

We ran into this cowboy at De Le Guerra plaza :)

Watching Sofia dance at El Paseo Restaurant. (Some lady asked for my phone to take this shot of us).

That's the lady.

I have like 40 of this same photo now.

Snow cone break!

The "mayors" of Fiesta, our neighbors ;)

Watching Talia, the Spirit.

Random dog on State Street with sunglasses on. You see it all downtown during Fiesta.

BBQ at our friends house and Samantha graced us with an impromptu performance. So actually she did 37 performances instead of 36 ;)

The finished float, nice job Fallon Artistic ;)

Tons and tons of cascarones line State Street.

Lining up for the Children's Parade.

End of the parade hugs from Ms. Linda.

Sweet Gwendolyn came to watch too!

Baby sister Eleanora stole the show with that floral headband.

Reesie girl!

Bored boys watching dance but they did have fun with the cascarones!

Dancing at El Paseo Restaurant

My backstage view of Samantha dancing at the courthouse.

Todd's view in front of the courthouse.

Little Natalie made the last performance of the season at La Cumbre Plaza.

Thatcher was not having any more flamenco.

THE LAST PERFORMANCE!

We made it!

And we were TIRED!

Dinner was at Marmalade Cafe at La Cumbre Plaza since if we went any further we would surely collapse from exhaustion.

I'm sure Thatcher was afraid he was going to wake up to more flamenco dancing so he opted to sleep through dinner.

The last hurrah of chips/guacamole/salsa/margaritas.

Not sure how she has energy to climb the walls at dinner….

This is me admiring my last flamenco bun for the year.

Of course Thatcher woke up for these!

Wrap party at Oak Park!
