We were in need of some R&R after Fiesta and headed down to Newport Beach to stay at the Marriott Newport Coast Villas. We'd never stayed there before but were sold on the idea since the hotel had so much to do on the property that you didn't even have to leave the grounds plus each villa was 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, outdoor barbeque and even had laundry machines.
Lunch while waiting for our villa.
Exploring the resort.
The Kids' Club was full of activities and games.
And the resort itself had a daily schedule of things to do for both us and the kids.
Koi pond fun.
Silly koi pond fun.
We spent most of our time swimming and lounging by the pool.
Papa and Grandma came down for the day and took us to lunch at my favorite restaurant, The Crab Cooker.
Sending postcards to the Colorado cousins.
My morning run up Pelican Hill where I am pretty sure some of the OC housewives live ;)
Flexing and showing off his puddle jumper which unfortunately we left at the hotel pool on the last day and never found it…. grrrr…. Maybe that's a sign for us to get this kid to learn how to swim.
The Kids' Club would have activities throughout the day. A poolside dance party and Limbo was on the agenda this particular day.
Snow cones, root beer floats and ice cream sundaes were a daily occurrence.
Silly pool Selfies.
Poppy and Grandma came back to visit us.
Grandma picked up lunch from Crab Cooker.
Manhattan clam chowder, sourdough bread and a cocktail. Perfect lunch!
Twin friends the kids met and played with for the week.
Build-a-Monkey activity
Why I am taking a selfie with pork chops on the grill, I have no idea?!
Poppy was in charge of the grilling this night.
Another lunch at the Crab Cooker.
Bike riding on the Newport Beach boardwalk
Quick stop at the park before more bike riding.
The Balboa Fun Zone which by the way I feel has gone WAY downhill since we were kids. Oh well….
Superhero fun!
Air hockey with Poppy
We took a lot of shots on this surfboard ;)
Which flavor will he choose for today?
We never missed the snow cone, root beer float or ice cream sundae bars they would put out each afternoon.
Sushi and desert at Bluefin.
Roasting marshmallows and hot dogs
Bingo!
More to come!
