Bowling with the Paskins

A couple weekends ago we went bowling with the Paskin family.  We left the two little boys at home with a sitter and had so much fun watching the girls bowl.  Check out their moves:

I had some great moves too, right?

Not to mention my awesome score.  Too bad you can't read that TV screen because you would really be surprised by how good I am ;)

In all honesty, the Paskins dominated with the bowling and in the arcade.  Mike won some fancy iPod thing from this video game which pretty much gave away that Sarah and Mike spend more time at Zodo's Bowling and Beyond than they are telling us.  It is okay to admit you are in a bowling league guys.  ;)

Gymnastics

For the start of the new year we offered Samantha a choice of doing some sort of activity (ballet, gymnastics, soccer etc.) and her first choice was hip-hop dancing and her second choice was tap dancing.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find a dance school that had days/times that worked for us so we went with her third choice and enrolled her in gymnastics again at Girl's Inc.

What a difference a few months makes!  Her confidence level is so much higher.  She has gotten better at pointing her toes and straightening her legs.  She can climb up and walk across the high beam unassisted.  She has also slowed down.  Last time we did gymnastics she would rush through each exercise and I would be in the stands like a crazy lady trying to get her attention to SLOW DOWN!  Her coach, Jenna, has been working with her to understand that it isn't a race and to give the person in front of her some space.  I'm also loving the fact that so far her class has only had one or two other girls in it (one of which is her friend Presley).  She is getting a lot more special attention this time around.

New Year, New Car

On New Year's Day we went to a fabulous party at the Paskin house.  Delicious food, good drinks, and fun friends with the highlight of the party being Reese's pink Barbie jeep she got for Christmas.

How's this for trick photography?

As the afternoon progressed and naps were missed, Thatcher was less enamoured with the Barbie jeep and shifted his focus to trying to capture himself in this net.
See what skipping naps does to this kid?  He was delirious!
We are in trouble when this crew turns 16.....
