Hiking, Basketball and Bowling

A few Saturdays ago the five of us hiked up the Jesusita Trail.

No complaints the first mile.

The drinking fountain at the 2-mile mark and a wee bit of complaining prior to the water.

We picked it up to a run on the two miles down as we were going to be late to Samantha's first basketball practice.

They complained less when we were running. Go figure.

Hike finished!

We made it just in time to practice and Thatcher was still monkeying around after hiking four miles.

Samantha's first practice went great and they got their new uniforms with their team name, The Storm! More on basketball later.

Why stop at hiking and basketball when there is still bowling to be had?!

Loving Charlotte's "This Girl Wears Cleats" socks.

Everything was glowing!

They rushed through bowling for the games.

Score! Oversized and overpriced glasses.

Visit from the Fam

My sister and her kids and our Mom and Dad came to Santa Barbara for a visit a few weeks ago.

First stop, Shoreline Cafe for some Happy Hour!

And this would be the last picture we have of Samantha's hanging front tooth ;)

A little football action on the beach helped to knock that front tooth out!

That is one excited Thatcher getting to have his cousin Dylan join him on Dad's night at preschool to make valentines.

iPading.

When the boys got home, Michele and I went out!  The night started at Seven.

And ended at Indochine.

The gym was in order the next day.

Then we spent the day at the beach!

Next stop, Grandma and Poppy's hotel to swim.

Followed by a hike up the Jesusita Trail.

About a mile in these 3 wanted to head back AND

this guy wanted to keep going which meant I carried him like a sack of potatoes up two miles and then back down. I've now learned my lesson to not trust a 3-year-old who says, "I can make it the entire way, I promise." Even more challenging is that it got darker earlier than I thought it would (or actually we weren't moving fast enough) so the last part of the hike was in the dark.

Cousin sleepover!

The next morning we all went to Samantha's basketball game where she made our cheering section VERY happy with her first basket!

Then off to the Skate Park.

Mesa Cafe breakfast the next day that hit the spot after the Paskin's happy hour (Thanks Sarah and Mike!)

That is Thatcher in Dylan's lap. Thatcher was enamored with his cousin.

I am sure Dylan was ready for a break after four days with that little guy ;)

While the cousins and parents went shopping and out to lunch, we had to see the Lego film to appease these two monkeys ;o)

We regrouped at the Sea Center.

A quick stop to Endless Summer.

Still trying to get used to my little Sammy's new smile ;)

And who could resist going to Zodo's after all that we had done that day?!

Not bad for a 3-year-old, Thatcher!

Darn, you can't see my high score!

I suck at bowling. Michele won, whatever.

Final stop, Yogurtland!

On their last day, we had a quick lunch at The Beachside.

And then said our goodbyes at the airport. Thatcher's pose is killing me here.

Then Thatcher tried to steal their luggage so they couldn't get back to Colorado ;)
