Celebrating 10 Years

CHEERS to 10 Years!

Yes, we celebrated 10 years of marriage by taking the whole family out to dinner.

Our anniversary falls right in the middle of flamenco season and well, it made a fancy trip impossible, a party impossible and really any of the things you feel pressured to do on the big ten, impossible! ;) So, we took these crazy kids out to our favorite restaurant and agreed to have a "real" celebration at a later date. Let's see if we actually make that happen before 11 years...

Taking the kids to Arigato means we have to order a plate of daikon radish to appease them.

Thatcher gave us some space at one point and sat at the the sushi bar.

Chocolate cake smiles from the kiddos.

Because the chocolate cake wasn't enough, we headed over to Lovin' Spoonful afterwards.

Our kids will sit and watch the slide show and point out all their friends. That's our sweet neighbor "Roo" (Andrew).

They get extra excited when one pops up of them which isn't that uncommon. I received this text from my friend Jill the other day:

Andrew is concerned you may have a frozen yogurt problem. We are at the loving spoonful and we have seen your children in the photo montage in many different outfits. There is help for people like you, you just have to accept a higher power and your lack of control over frozen yogurt.  🍦🍦🍦

And the fun didn't end at Lovin' Spoonful people, that's right, we really know how to celebrate the Big 10! ;)

The Pirozzi's were sending us messages to wish us Happy Anniversary and then told us they were out downtown having dinner too. We jokingly said they should come over afterward for the PAARRTTY!  We got home from frozen yogurt and guess who knocked on the door? These three with a nice bottle of champagne and a bunch of candy for the kids.

Arigato, Lovin' Spoonful, a surprise visit from the Pirozzi's which included Baby Stella AND we knew we had to wake up super early for flamenco commitments. We sure know how to celebrate the big 10 ;)

7 Year Anniversary

On July 24th, Todd and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary.  We planned to celebrate, just the two of us, at our favorite restaurant Arigato.  When we were first dating we would go there at least once a week, sometimes twice, even sometimes two nights in a row!  My how times have changed since two has become four. ;)  And wouldn't you know it, those extra two got to tag along on our date when our sitter canceled at the last minute.

Someone was excited not to have to stay home with a babysitter!

So excited she wore her tap shoes to dinner....

Sam impressed us with her ginger paintings.

While Thatcher impressed us with his eating skills by having two orders of edamame beans, two miso soups and a huge bowl of rice.

After dinner we walked (Samantha tapped) across the street to Petros for dessert.  Our waitress was very sweet and made our desserts all fancy with candles.

Both kids thought they were at a birthday party.  I guess it was our anniversary's birthday so not a total loss but then they started wishing for things like dinosaurs, princesses, cars......

Since no pictures were taken of the two lovebirds on their anniversary, here's one when we first met about 9 years ago looking all young and relaxed.  To be honest, we actually didn't mind sharing our special evening with our two munchkins.  I'd say that 75% of the time when the four of us go out to dinner somewhere nice it usually ends up in a disaster but for some reason that night just clicked.  No one was climbing under the table, no drinks were spilled, we weren't rushed through dinner and both kids ate their meals.  I'm not saying that we want them joining us on our 8th anniversary dinner but you know what I mean. ;)

6 Year Anniversary

On July 24th, Todd and I celebrated our 6th anniversary.  We spent the day kid-free riding bikes around town, ate at Brophy's and stopped at several local wineries to toast to our milestone.  The kids joined us later for sushi and Yogurtland and I didn't take a single picture.....

So, I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures from our wedding.  I thought we had the best wedding.  Everything was perfect.  Really, everything.  The only funny thing now, six years later, after sorting through the pictures, many of the couples that were at our wedding are no longer couples, yikes!  So, below are the pictures, in no particular order, of those friends and family that made the cut ;)

Here's to making it through the seven year itch! ;)
