Basketball Season started and ended so quickly! We are all bummed that it is over. It was something we all looked forward to doing on Saturday mornings. Unfortunately, 75% of Samantha and Thatcher's games were at nearly the exact same time. So, we alternated going to see each kid. Once in a while we'd be able to catch the last half of both games but that was tough since they were playing at different locations.
Samantha's team, the Knicks, were crowned league champions and we had no idea what Thatcher would be like on the court and it turns out that (not to brag) he was AWESOME! Yay, Seahawks!
We lucked out with Coach Ed who was patient, a good teacher and took to heart when he said his #1 goal was hoping that each of the kids would play again next year. He made sure each and every kid had a good experience.
Knicks warming up with assistant coaches Tyler and Tom.
After game celebration breakfasts were always held at Mesa Cafe.
Thatcher was always dressed and ready to go for his games. He had so much fun!
Shea (aka Shea Shea) is in first grade at Peabody and has become a mini-Sam.
Amelia (best dressed at every game in her silver hot pants) and Thatcher
We happened to have been at Amelia's house the night before Thatcher played her team. We discussed a plan for Thatcher to pass the ball to Amelia to give her a chance to shoot but it didn't quite happen that way. The Seahawks actually beat her team 40-something to zero. Ouch!
More celebration breakfasts.
Go Knicks!
Goofball.
Offensive Player of the Year!
League champs!
Oh how lucky we were again with Coach Jules. We may have to pay off the other coaches next year to make sure the draft goes in our favor. ;)
Globetrotters at UCSB!
Here's a little highlight reel of Thatcher. To see Sam's, you have to go back to the beginning of the season. ;)
Thatcher ended the season with 44 points. The Seahawks had 6 Wins, 1 Tie and 2 Losses.
Samantha ended the season with 36 points. The Knicks had 9 wins and 2 Losses.
