Thanksgiving 2018

Peabody's Turkey Tango!

3rd graders!

5th graders!

5th graders won for the upper grades!

3rd graders won for the lower grades! Both kids happy campers!

Fletcher the Peabody therapy dog dressed as a turkey. 🦃

I COOKED! Sort of. I bought half and made half. My oh my traditional Thanksgiving recipes are full of butter.

My helper.

Lazy Acres was the other chef.

More butter.

Rooting for the Italian Greyhound!

No formal dining room means making do with what we have. 🤷‍♀️

Helpful kiddos!

Thatcher went for one of the many names he gets called when people can't understand how to pronounce his name. The "TH" gets a lot of the younger kids. 😂 "Badger", "Patrick", "Fatso", "Fletcher", "Thatcho", "Pacho". There are a lot more versions we have heard. And yes, Fatso, has happened more than once.

Turkey for four a la Lazy Acres.

Just us!

Working off the butter.

We came home to these lovely ladies and started round two of dinner! Sweet Angela wasn't feeling well from being diagnosed with cancer just a couple months prior and was laying down in the back of the house. 😢

And Thatcher was the only one who could fit in pie.

Veteran's Day Weekend: Refugio State Beach Camping

We camped for our first time in Refugio for the three-day Veteran's Day weekend. I can't remember how many families there were but there were A LOT, all with various forms of camping set-ups from tents to trailers.

We have zero camping gear so opted for a trailer that was delivered, set-up for us, and then taken away when we left. I will say that those that opted for tent camping mostly hung out inside trailers because it was FREEZING at night. I could definitely tent camp but it would need to be WAY warmer and I wouldn't be skimping on the gear. I'd need the best stuff. 😂

Fiona got her makeup done. 😬

I learned goggles are a good idea with campfire smoke!

The boys built a sand spa!

And they charged a few bucks for foot massages.

I'd say we got a pretty good introduction to camping!
