Grandparents Visit

A couple weeks ago my parents came to visit.

FINALLY we had some good weather for them. 

We spent the day at Butterfly Beach.

Todd even went swimming!

Next stop, their hotel, where Sam practiced swimming.

Later we walked down to the harbor for an early dinner.

Thatcher fell asleep (and missed dinner).

The next morning we had breakfast at Summerland Beach Cafe.

 

Then we had a last stop at the park in Carpinteria.

Swim Lessons

Samantha started her first swim lessons at the YMCA a few weekends ago. 

We lucked out on her first group class.  She was the only one that showed up so she had a private lesson.

 Week Two

It won't be long Sammy!!  You are doing great!  Much better than we did with holding the video camera still....

Little Miss Coppertone

My friend Holley gave me an ad from one of her magazines that was for the Little Miss Coppertone contest and said I should enter Sam. 

They were looking for a little girl that symbolizes summer. Someone outgoing, energetic, wholesome, charming, and full of optimism. Seemed like Sam to me, seemed like most little four- year-olds actually......

I entered on the day of the deadline.  I am sure if I took pictures of her at the beach I would have had a better chance but it was foggy that day, go figure....

I took photo after photo with her giving me various smiles and poses.....

I settled on this one.....

They returned it to me cropped like this and said our entry was accepted.

I am guessing we didn't win since I haven't heard back.  There goes our "dream vacation" which was the winning prize.....

Father's Day 2012

Happy Father's Day Todd!

We played around on the sand for a few hours and then headed home for an impromtu barbeque with friends at our house. 

Now, get to work on that yard Hot Toddy!  ;)

Wine Tasting Trip

A couple weeks ago my best Mommy friends got together for a wine tasting trip in the valley.  We originally planned a spa day here in Santa Barbara at the Bacara but alas June Gloom was in full swing so we headed north for some sunshine.

After wine tasting we all ended up at our house for some pizza (and dress-up) with all the dads and kids.  I wish all weekends could be like this!
