Samantha's Easter treat for her preschool class was this cute pineapple fruit tray. This was a recycled idea we did last year for Easter.

Last Day
Our visit with the family ended on a perfect Santa Barbara day. FINALLY, 70+ degrees, no wind and no sign of rain or fog.
Perfect day for the zoo.
Grandma and Poppy packed a nice picnic lunch for all of us.
Later that afternoon we played around in the yard.
Some volleyball...
Some dancing....
Some tattooing...
And another stop, this time for dinner, at Los Gallos.
And then back home the grandparents went (always kiss the car to make sure you get home safely).
The rest of us (well the grown ups) were so tired but we had mentioned the bowling alley over the previous few days and the kids were not going to let us forget it. In fact, when I asked Dylan what had been his favorite part of the trip so far, he said the bowling alley. How sad is that? We hadn't even been there!
So, here we are at Zodo's Bowling and Beyond!
Calm down Michele, you only won tickets. And those tickets only buy you an eraser for your #2 pencil.
They actually won pretty good crap, I mean stuff, for $20 AND we made Dylan a happy camper ;)
And that my friends, was the end of our Spring Break with the family! Which means my kids are back to napping, sleeping in their own beds and are really, really sad that their cousins are gone :(

Sunday Funday
On Sunday, my parents joined the group and we started off the day with breakfast at Esau's Cafe.
The plan after that was to walk up on the pier and check out the huge waves that day but it was SUPER windy and cold....typical Spring in Santa Barbara....
So, we opted for an activity indoors and headed to the Natural History Museum instead.
The Science PlayLab was a big hit!
The outdoor area at the museum was interesting or I should say dangerous with these large bamboo poles. The one Samantha is launching forward came right back and hit Todd in the head. Ouch!
After the museum, the wind subsided and the sunshine came out (seriously, the weather in Santa Barbara drive me crazy!), so we headed over to Grandma and Poppy's hotel to swim.
It actually was so hot that all the kids got tan lines even though we were not there very long. By the way, I love this picture of Sam sunbathing. She was very methodical about making herself a pillow towel and getting set up just perfectly and closing her eyes for a little rest in the sun. Such a sweetheart!
Thatcher on the other hand......
After swimming, we headed over to The Barbecue Company in Carpinteria for dinner. And this is Thatcher under the table throwing a fit. This was the second day in a row with no nap and he had HAD it!
Todd was able to calm him down by breastfeeding him, just kidding! He took a little cat nap with daddy. ;)
We stuffed ourselves with tri tip sandwiches and other delicious BBQ.
And then back home for an early night's sleep.
