Punta de Mita, Puerto Vallarta Part 2

On day four, we headed back to Kapuri Beach Club because we loved it so much and we definitely needed a place to do absolutely nothing and recover from the previous night. Toni had a commitment she had to attend back home so we were bummed she was going to be leaving. Here's basically what we did all day:

The kids spent time in the Kids' Club getting their faces painted.

Came home to Violetta's enchiladas. Yum!

There was a CRAZY rain and thunderstorm that night.

Violetta continued to amaze us with her cooking.

We hired a driver on day five to take us to Sayulita.

We had definitely left the gates of Hacienda de Mita going through town.

We arrived to the Sayulita beach and then the wheeling and dealing began. Basically you HAD to have an umbrella because it was so hot, who knows what Jason and Todd paid to rent this umbrella...

For some reason we didn't bring Todd's surfboard from the house this day and then of course their were waves.... oh well, we rented a bunch of boards and everyone was off in the water for hours.

Video: Sammy surfing!

And this was probably my favorite day in Mexico because Sammy was so happy surfing! So awesome to see her super comfortable in the water, no wetsuit (yay for warm actually HOT water!), and catching wave after wave. There's a little part in the video where some dancers (I am sure there is a better name for them) came out of no where to perform. Quite the cultural experience we had!

Lots and lots of vendors walking the beach selling all sorts of stuff.

Sam's pensive look was the same as mine. Is that meat on a stick?!?! Yikes!

This guy was actually from Sacramento, but comes down here to help his family during the summer. I caved and let Thatcher get the tattoo he kept enticing him with but that was only after he also said he would get our group a 12-pack of Coronas. So that was $5 well spent.

Praying he got tattoos out of his system on this trip. ;)

Thatcher showing the "dancers" a little love with some pesos.

Hot, sweaty kiddos ready to eat.

Adults ready to drink.

Blurry but that's all I got!

Our driver, (I forget his name), came to check on us.

Back at the beach for more surfing and I volunteered to sit and be the keeper of our stuff. While we felt completely safe there, there was no way you could leave phones, money, bags etc. So, I sat under our rented umbrella that miraculously was still in the same spot after leaving it unattended when we left to eat.

I finally bought one of these things because this lady had come up to me oh probably 35 times throughout the course of the day.

Sweetest dogs ever in Sayulita.

My sarong-thing was put to good use as you can see.

I kind of wanted to take all the dogs home.

We made our way back to the driver.

Heading back to Punta Mita.

Straight to the pool!

Some soccer.

Fort building.

Ice cream and static electricity.

And a last dance party.

Video: Thatcher Dancing

I must say, Thatcher really went out on a high note with his dancing.

And then the next morning it was pouring rain and time to go home.

Rain is very exciting for these children of the drought.

Pesos to Dollars to Dollars to Pesos—Jason and Todd figuring out how much to tip the staff.

And just like that, we had to leave :(

Goodbye amazing view!

Beautiful house.

A last soda for the rode.

Wacky Puerto Vallarta airport.

The pilots on this flight route are some of the nicest because the kids were in the cockpit again!

Until next time...
