Peabody Jog-A-Thon 2020

The last Peabody Jog-A-Thon for Sam!

And the last Jog-A-Thon video of these two together.

The 2020 Jog-A-Thon sponsors that I'm in charge of which contributes $30,000 to our fundraising total.

Such an exciting day at Peabody each year during this event.

Coach Holbrook is the best of the best!

My other job on the committee is the water bottles and shirts.

We kick off the day with kindergarten.

Principal Barnett gives a pep talk to each grade before they run.

Coach Holbrook high fives every single kid.

Pre-yoga run.

Making our way throughout the day to our goal.

Char-mantha 🤓

Lila.

Coach Holbrook never stops with the silliness.

Almost time for Thatcher to run but he was not feeling 100%.

And I could see it in his eyes.

Sweet Penelope repping the MedCenter!

I love all the decorated water bottles.

Time for fourth grade and me worrying that Thatcher was coming down with something.

He ran.

But not like he has in years past.

Smiling but those cheeks were red before he started.

Major headache ensued.

But trying to smile through the pain.

Coach Holbrook still happy as can be.

Loving the support from all the grades coming out to cheer on others.

Mr. Barrett getting his laps in.

Forever 6th grader Fletcher ready to run!

The last Jog-A-Thon for these five together.

Sam had a strong first place finish 💙

💗Here's some footage of the event

Fast forward a month later and the awards had to be watched over zoom!

Welcome to the pandemic....

Thatcher broke his first place winning streak he had since kindergarten and didn't place at all. Did he have covid that day?! So many kids, parents and teachers weren't feeling well during that time and one of the first cases of covid discovered in Santa Barbara came from a Peabody parent.

Samantha held onto her first place winning streak with 39 laps and was also the girl with the most laps in the entire school.

We surpassed our $110,000 goal which was amazing but not the best ending...
