Jack and Thatch

Back when our firsts were not even two years old my best girlfriends and I would swap babysitting once a week. Each of us would watch four toddlers at once.  The kiddos in these videos are now six or almost six.  Unbelievable!

We kept the co-op babysitting up until the second children started to arrive which brings me to the two below.  Here are a couple of the second kids, Jack and Thatch.  A lot of their days are spent riding around in the car to and from school to drop their older sisters off and to other various activities that 3-year-olds can't do yet.  They log a lot of hours with Mom going to the store, the gym, the post office, you know, the usual daily tasks.  While it is fun to have a co-pilot with you to run these errands with, it sure is a lot more fun to have a buddy with you which works out great for everyone involved.  The boys have someone to play with other than their mom and one mom gets a whole day kid-free.  Win-Win-Win-Win-Win-Win ;)

The gym, the park, Target, the post office, CVS, out to lunch, the bank, Trader Joe's, you name it.  All the usuals with your best friend.  I think our weekly swap is genius!

Touch-a-Truck

Last month we went to PEP's Touch-a-Truck event.

Todd did the signs.

The kids were more interested in the bounce house and

face painting than they were with "touching any trucks".

I tried to run from our house to the Elk's Lodge in Goleta hence the workout clothes.  I only made it a few miles and had to have my family pick me up on their way.  I sure hope that doesn't happen in the half marathon that is only a few weeks away..... yikes!

I think this is my favorite face painting Samantha has ever gotten.

She did a cute job with Thatcher's Batman face too.

We ended the day at The Beachside with Hello Kitty and Batman.  Happy Sunday for us!
