Random April Photos

Shortest distant to a sleepover for the kids is with our neighbor, Summer.

Futsal tournament for Sam's soccer team.

2nd place!

Beach runs with Lolly.

Killing time at SBA before my flight.

Wish we had a True Food Kitchen in SB!

Dinner at Sasa. Yum!

Face-timing with the fam.

Peace out SF!

Per usual, getting back to SB is never easy or on time.

Delay after delay.

FINALLY!

I landed and wheeled my suitcase right onto the soccer field.

Quick snack at the ice rink.

And then we ubered to get Sam from her softball practice which was one of those working mom moments where you feel things work out just right.

Sushi night.

We were taking too long at dinner so they went to Dominos.

They came back with free food.

Charlotte's mom texted me this. How sweet is this friendship?!

I added a new trophy to Sam's shelf. 😂🙌

The things you see at Whole Foods.

Breaking in the Parker's new home!

Complete with entertainment!

Leanne always makes the best entrance!

You too Dixie!

Happy Birthday Sky!

Harbor fun!

We even needed a lift home!

I came down with what I thought was the WORST flu ever and kept popping Tylenol Flu and wondering when I would feel better. I did a lot of googling and my nurse mother-in-law mentioned that it could be pneumonia. Sure enough, after medicating myself enough to get out of bed to get to urgent care, the lung x-ray came back positive. It took almost the entire month to recover.

I had funny cards, chicken soup, gatorade and meds delivered by so many friends. Being sick does suck but it was nice to be taken care of. And I am pretty sure I can decipher the flu from pneumonia now which a friend linked back to the Thomas Fire. While I mostly wore my mask that month when the air quality was so bad, we remained in Santa Barbara pretty much the entire time and even the inside of our house was smoky. Google "Thomas Fire and Pneumonia", it's a real thing!

Pool day with Zach.

Spring soccer! Lot's of games and lots of team lunches!

Happy Birthday Delilah!

The Gizmo call log always cracks me up. There is a setting where you can make it so they can't "ignore" a parent. It doesn't apply to siblings.

Thatcher had cut his foot at a friend's house on a metal thing that operated the pool cover the month before and it wasn't healing. It was one of those decisions where it could have gone either way with him needing to get stitches. Because we were leaving the next day on our spring break trip, we opted to skip the stitches and go the bandaid route. Bad call.

Gross foot, sorry. But that flap of skin would not reattach. On top of all this, Dr. Abbott heard Thatcher cough and suspected he had bronchitis. And he did! We not only left with a referral for a plastic surgeon but also a prescription for antibiotics and an inhaler. So Thatcher and I were walking around that month puffing on our inhalers.

And sleeping A LOT.

Thatcher's idea of pants.

Age is just a number with these two. Caroline is the same age as Thatcher and one of Sam's best buds!

We are working on Carol's chopstick skills though. 😂

Levi had the most hysterical birthday party.

The combo of Cheetos and shaving cream make a pretty darn good game.

Off to see Kelsea Ballerini at the Arlington.

We allowed a school night sleepover after the late night.

Grandma and Thatcher playing a little one on one.

Quick day date to Brophy's

And these three stayed home under the condition that we brought them home sushi.

Impressions and photos taken can mean only one thing, it was time for braces (soon)!

Thatcher's 8-Year Checkup

Thatcher concentrates HARD on these tests.

Proud that he was able to pee in a cup!

More concentration.

65 pounds (77%)

He gained 8 pounds since last year!

He knows the drill, no matter what, smile!

Proud of being 53 inches (90%)

He grew 3 inches from last year.

Finger pricks always feel good. 😂

Dr. Abbott determined he is a healthy eight-year-old and we were hoping not to see him again until he turned nine but no such luck, we've earned our frequent flyer card for Thatcher and doctor visits this year with a bee sting, sliced foot and more!

Easter 2018

Dying eggs.

It's messy.

But WAY better than slime!

This might not have been our most creative year. 🤔

The Easter Bunny made a visit!

Waiting patiently to go see their baskets.

Sam was VERY excited about the contents of her basket.

Egg hunt time!

Lollipop didn't know what all the fuss was about.

Breakfast at Mesa Cafe.

Fun with Easter toys.

It was a very simple and sweet Easter. 🐰
